The internal struggle for individual success is a factor to consider for McLaren. However, an accident between teammates could give the Dutchman another chance. Speaking to the BBC, Oscar Piastri details his view of the situation: "If Max beats us, of course it would hurt, but we would know we both had the same chance; we were competing with everyone else, and that's how it happened. For us, it's the simplest and fairest way to compete, and that's what we asked for."

After winning the Spanish Grand Prix, he believes that the internal competition, far from harming them, is something that interests the team: “It gives Lando and me the best opportunity to achieve our personal goals of trying to become world drivers' champions and, at the same time, achieve the most important result for the team, which is the constructors' championship.”

Lando Norris managed to win in Monaco and regained second place in Barcelona after a poor start. However, the Briton has only achieved two victories in 2025, the same number as Max Verstappen. His teammate has stood on the top step of the podium five times and is the most decisive factor in their rivalry.

The team boss is enjoying a great year for the team. The FIA ​​​​implemented the regulation changes regarding front wing flexibility, something that could have affected McLaren. However, the Woking team scored another double and made a statement. The American has not hesitated to address the issue somewhat ironically on his social media.
